Eat more potassium for better heart health!

High blood pressure can be caused by eating too much salt as well as salty, processed foods that contain large amounts of the mineral sodium.  Sodium in our bodies can attract water into the blood vessels, in turn leading to pressure in such vessels. Sodium can be excreted from the body when we eat foods rich in the mineral potassium. Therefore, load up on foods rich in potassium, such as bananas, sweet potatoes, spinach, tomatoes, and oranges, to lower your blood pressure and improve your heart health!
